As a teacher of English in grades 5-12, I have seen my share of girl drama. Every year there is a girl that just doesn't fit in--either she's new to the school, dresses differently, or has interests that are atypical. This book speaks to the hearts of those girls and lets them know that there are other girls just like them, as well as people who care about them and want to help and befriend them. It is a story full of hope, kindness, and friendship. I would recommend it to parents who want a peek at what it means to be a girl between the ages 10 and 17; as well as to children in grades 4-8 who will see themselves in one of the various characters that will make them laugh, cry, and most importantly: feel understood. -Linda
